Perché si continua a costruire? Per necessità penseranno in molti ma così non è. Sapete il perché?

Si costruisce per ambire a superare il vicino, per una sorta di spirito di competizione che sovente porta alle peggiori brutture.
In Italia è palese la necessità di ognuno di noi di sentirci capaci di fare tutto da soli, quindi siamo portati a sentirci  tutti architetti. Non si tratta di titolo di studio o esperienza sul campo bensì della sacrosanta arte di arrangiarci. Cado sovente nel tranello e mi ergo a mastro falegname o scalpellino, a volte carpentiere ed altre navigato vetraio, spessissimo sono un buon fabbro.
Poi mi soffermo a pensare a quanti buoni artigiani ci sono e mi rattristo di non averne ancora incontrati. Però predicare bene e razzolare male non è educativo allora continuo a fidarmi del prossimo e non smetto di arrabbiarmi.
Torniamo invece al 90% del costruito dove manca la cultura del territorio e della memoria storica, ancora più povera è l'aspettativa di innovazione tecnica e tecnologica. Si susseguono volumi senza criterio alcuno se non quelli dettati dalla sterile normativa locale e sovranazionale. Parlare di urbanistica in Italia è un eufemismo per dire che il senso urbano e civico da noi manca del tutto.
Io auspico che costruire o ricostruire sia spinto da una necessità di far parte del proprio tempo, rivolgendosi al nuovo che avanza nel rispetto della buona memoria del passato. Bisogna imparare le preziose lezioni dei nostri padri e renderle onore e ove possibile scordarsi i momenti di buio per ambire alla luce: farsi abbagliare!
