Quando pensiamo a case ecologiche siamo certi che queste entità esistano? A onor del vero non esistono edifici ecologici bensì persone che le abitano con un'educazione ecologica. Sono gli attori a rendere possibile il basso consumo energetico di un fabbricato, risiede nelle abitudini quotidiane il funzionamento di basso profilo che pretendiamo dalle solite quattro mura. Magari è più semplice affidare il risparmio energetico a delle murature nuove e performanti   invece che cambiare se stessi. Vi sottolineo da subito che non basta spendere e spandere nella costruzione di case in legno, con struttura in xlam o a telaio, abbondare in isolamenti di derivazione naturale e non, le così dette case in bioedilizia ( prefabbricate ), per sperare di ottenere una casa autosufficiente. Il grosso del lavoro tocca a voi abitando e facendo un uso ragionato dei nuovi sistemi  che andate a scegliere.
Dalle piccole alle grandi scelte della quotidianità, come tirare lo sciacquone o ombreggiare le vetrate in estate sino a decidere di eliminare qualsiasi forma di riscaldamento che sfrutta i combustibili fossili.
E' qualcosa da desiderare prima come una scelta di vita che guardi alla serenità del futuro, poi come meramente l'atto di costruirsi una dimora.
